About

Time Out writes… They call the heart of Highgate ‘the village’ for a good reason. This impossibly pretty, olde-worlde neighbourhood has retained its village-y feel. There are atmospheric pubs like The Flask (which wouldn’t look amiss in a Cotswolds village), and a wealth of Georgian-style buildings – from jaw-dropping manor houses to romantic cottages.

This part of London doesn’t have a heap of ‘sights’, although there is, of course, the magnificent, gothic Highgate Cemetery. Regardless, it’s a gorgeous place to wander on a Sunday afternoon and has not one, but three green spaces: Waterlow Park with its views towards central London; ancient Highgate Wood and not forgetting the mighty Hampstead Heath itself.
